::: ::: 　　This Station is responsible to carry out the agricultural researches and extension service primarily for Miaoli County, but the silkworm and honeybee research are for all over the island. The main missions are as follows. To carry out researches on variety improvement and cultivation practices for agronomic or horticultural crops. To carry out researches on agricultural environment-related fields such as agricultural meteorology, farm pest control including natural enemy rearing, soil and fertilizers and farm machinery. To carry out researches on silkworm and honey bee with regards to variety improvement and rearing method. To promote the silk quality and beehive products by improving the processing method. To design farm machinery and farm tools suitable for small farm operation. To transfer the newly developed agricultural technologies, such as crop cultivation, skill of rearing silkworm and honeybee, through extension service (training, workshop, and mass communication media) to farmers. Planning of the effective farmland use, and establishing market-oriented production and marketing systems for farmers so that to enhance the rural economy. To collect and update agricultural information for dissemination to farmers through the computerized storage and retrieval system via internet service as a part of extension work. Measures will be taken to beautify and preserve the rural natural environment. In the mean time, to help farmers to establish leisure farms, such as sightseeing strawberry farm, tourist fruit garden and organic farms so as to promote rural tourism.
